Neurolens Eyeglasses
Dr. Espy & Deltavision Optical Center are so excited to start prescribing Neurolens glasses.
In addition to helping you see better, we can now help you feel better. We can help you get relief from symptoms such as headaches, neck-strain, motion sickness, dry-eye and digital eye strain.
Many patients have written these symptoms off as part of a stressful lifestyle with too much time at a computer.
Dr. Espy now prescribes neurolenses®, the first prescription lenses that add a contoured prism to bring the eyes into alignment, correcting misalignment that can irritate and overstimulate the trigeminal nerve.

WHY NEUROLENS?
Do you get headaches? Eyes that feel tired or dry? Pain in your neck and shoulders? Bouts of dizziness? Do these symptoms tend to get worse towards the end of the day? Do they tend to correspond with long periods of using a computer, tablet, smartphone or even reading? If this describes you, you definitely aren’t alone; and like many others, you’re probably wondering why. Your eyes could be the problem, and Neurolenses could be the solution.
Neurolenses lead to dramatic symptom relief for the majority of wearers. 93% of patients have experienced symptom relief from wearing Neurolenses. In fact, 81.6% of patients suffering from chronic daily headaches reported their symptoms were substantially reduced or “basically gone” after wearing Neurolenses for 90 days. In a study concerning Computer Vision Syndrome, 100% of patients suffering from symptoms of Computer Vision Syndrome had a positive response to treatment with Neurolenses. Many Neurolens wearers have been able to greatly reduce or even eliminate the need for pain-relieving medications.

What causes trigeminal dysphoria?
The trigeminal nerve (the fifth cranial nerve, or simply CN V) is a nerve responsible for sensation in the face and motor functions such as biting and chewing; it is the most complex of the cranial nerves. Trigeminal dysphoria is a term that describes the constellation of symptoms commonly experienced by many patients. These symptoms are exacerbated following prolonged use of digital devices after long periods of reading or other close work.
The Power of Prism
Prism helps align two images, so that only one image is seen.
Contoured Prism is a neurolens proprietary technology in which the amount of prism increases gradually from the top to the bottom of the lens. This allows me to correct binocular misalignment at distance, intermediate and near in a single lens. (Previously requiring 2 or more pair of glasses) Research shows over 90 percent of patients have a larger misalignment at near than distance. Contoured prism technology can be used in a single vision, traditional progressive or office progressive lens.
Can prism glasses be worn while driving?
Double images during driving can be dangerous. So it’s usually recommended to wear prism glasses as prescribed by your doctor and stay safe. If you experience any discomfort with your prism glasses, consulting your eye doctor would be a wise call.
